Vaccines
Vaccines
Routine and specialist vaccinations for adults and children at Levitas Clinic Surrey, protecting against a range of preventable diseases.
Vaccinations We Offer
Pneumococcal Vaccine
Protects against pneumococcal infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, which can lead to pneumonia, meningitis and septicaemia. Also known as the pneumonia vaccine or "pneumo jab".
Pneumovax & Prevnar
Two further pneumococcal vaccines protecting against different strains of the bacteria — most people are advised to have both at some point.
BCG Vaccine
Protects against tuberculosis (TB). Rarely given to anyone over 16 and never to anyone over 35, though some adults at higher occupational risk, such as healthcare workers, may be offered it. A blood test is required for anyone over 6 before vaccination.
Chicken Pox Vaccine
Chickenpox is usually mild in childhood but can be more severe in adults, and poses particular risk to those undergoing chemotherapy, with weakened immune systems, or who are pregnant.
Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio & Pertussis
Protects against four serious bacterial and viral diseases — diphtheria and tetanus vaccines should be renewed every 10 years.
HPV Vaccine
Protects against high-risk strains of the human papilloma virus linked to cervical cancer, most effective when given before becoming sexually active.
Influenza Vaccine
Protects against seasonal flu. NHS eligibility is limited, but a private flu vaccine is available if you would prefer not to risk time off recovering.
Meningitis B
Protects against Meningitis B, responsible for the majority of meningococcal infections in young children, though it can affect any age group. Available from infants through to adults over 11.
Shingles Vaccine (Over 55)
Significantly reduces your chances of developing shingles, and can shorten and lessen the severity of the illness if you do. Also effective as a booster for those who have previously had shingles.
